People often customize the exterior of their vehicle because they want to either improve the performance of their car or just simply make it look meaner. However, you spend most of your time traveling inside your vehicle and not outside. So why not customize your interior with high-tech audio and video equipment?

Your factory stereo systems are usually sub par in performance and features unless you opted for premium packages at the time of your purchase. Package upgrades from the dealership would probably cost you a lot more money than if you were to choose your own aftermarket system.

In-dash receivers are source units that you would often associate with AM/FM radios or CD players. Imagine being able to listen to Sirius and XM Radio or have GPS navigational features on your radio. These features are now becoming increasingly affordable and becoming the standard for aftermarket systems, so don’t miss out in experiencing these features.

Getting tired of tin-can sounding speakers? Aftermarket speakers will upgrade your existing sound system, giving you more depth and fuller-quality sound. Tweeters are available for high-frequency sounds, like cymbals or other sound effects, and in some cases certain vocal ranges that you would not usually pick up factory speakers. Of course there are also aftermarket midrange speakers—these are typically the same size (4” – 6-3/4”) speakers as your current factory speakers. The significant difference is the quality of the sound reproduced by them. Finally, there are also subwoofers to pick up those low bass frequencies, reproducing the “boom” you would hear with drums and bass instruments.

Car audio modifications aren’t the only things you could do with the interior. You could also install TV screens—in the dashboard, on the ceiling, or even on the back of headrests. There is virtually no limit to what someone could do to the interior of any vehicle. Especially now that there are more people on the road than ever before and with that number always exponentially increasing, you could bet that you would spend more time in your car in the future. So why not install some entertainment for the kids while you sit in traffic? Why not install GPS navigation to guide you through busy streets? Why not make a 2-hour traffic jam an enjoyable wait?
