In fact, most factory electrical systems can only handle an audio system of 600 to 1200 watts. The lower end of the scale being the smaller vehicles and most foreign rides, and the upper end being large trucks and sport utility vehicles. As you increase demand, you need to look at upgrading your battery, alternator and most importantly your Big 3. THE BIG 3 The Big 3 consists of upgrading three wires under the hood of your vehicle. You can completely replace the three wires detailed below, or simply add additional wires to existing factory wires, the choice is yours. The existing factory wires are generally 8 gauge or smaller and are not designed for the high current demands of an aftermarket audio system. It is recommended that you use a nice insulated 0 gauge wire so that you only have to do this ...

How to install 2 amps with only 1xpreouts on headunit (mind the mess) 1of2
0.70 min. | 2.764706 user
rating
Installing 2 amps if you've only got 1xpreouts on your headunit. I've got 0ga cable running to my distro block to 2x4ga cable with 1x4ga running to my monoblock and the other 4ga to my 2nd amp. I've got rca's running from my monoblock out's to the rca in's on the 2nd amp. I've daisy chained the remote wire from the monoblock to the 2nd amp. Using 4ga cable to ground both amps at seperate points. So I've got my monoblock running my subwoofer and of course making sure it's not clipping most people recommend not turning your gains up over 2/3 and also never turning your headunit up 2/3 the way too. On my 2nd amp I'm running components but I've only got the gains on that up half way because the signals being run off the monoblock so I don't want it affecting my components. If anybody has any questions just ask I'm obviously not a pro car audio installer but I just hook my sounds up to work to the best of my knowledge not to look good.
